The academic precariat post-COVID-19

چکیده
The nature of work has changed, in accelerated late-capitalism and as a result the COVID-19 global health crisis. For academics, casualised precarious, sweeping institutional changes contemporary neoliberal universities, sharp rise managerialism, political power plays universities have created further untenable spaces for study. In this article we explore relationship between doctoral studies, precarious academic employment, pandemic, disproportionate effects higher education on women. Through exploration personal experience, workers, researchers, students, provide parallels to research literature across pandemic post-COVID literature. We practical suggestions corporate university, rebuild its catastrophically collapsing systems, re-centre students mentorship new future Australia, around world.
